About the ILO in Solomon Islands
Solomon Islands joined ILO in 1984 and has ratified 20 ILO Conventions, including eight fundamental Conventions. The ILO and Solomon Islands work together in priority areas like capacity building of tripartite partners, fostering social dialogue, promoting decent jobs particularly for youth and persons with disabilities, improving labour market information systems and social protection. The ILO’s work in the Solomon Islands is managed by the ILO Office for Pacific Island Countries, in Suva, Fiji.
