  1. ILO Launched the Skills Tracker in Tanzania

    As part of a new innovative approach to promoting skills development and ensure lifelong learning opportunities for all, the International Labour Organization, with the support of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, have developed a text-messaging tool to help skills systems better understand the quality and relevance of training programs and institutions.

  1. ILO-Norway “SKILL-UP” Partnership Programme meet to examine progress and plans by the end of the year

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Norway and the Norwegian Agency for Development Cooperation (NORAD) invited representatives of the ILO’s SKILLS Branch and ILO’s Partnerships for Development Department (PARDEV) to Oslo on 14 February to examine progress on Phase II of the Norway-ILO Programme Collaboration Agreement (PCA).

  1. Development of occupational standards, qualifications and assessment tools

    The National training workshop will aim to share the fundamentals of knowledge and techniques for the development of occupational standards and competency-based qualifications in Kyrgyzstan enabling to implement the national pilot project. The workshop will be attended by experts and resource people from other participating countries: Armenia, Tajikistan, Russia.

  2. Workshop on Quality Apprenticeships held in West Africa

    This three-day workshop, organized as part of the Global Initiative for Decent Youth Employment, examined the challenges and opportunities for a quality apprenticeship system in the six West African countries participating in the event.

  1. Seminar on Quality Work-Based Learning in Indonesia: Implementing the G20 Commitment to Skills Development

    The ILO will collaborate with the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and APINDO to hold a one-day workshop on Quality Work-based Learning Program in Indonesia. The workshop will focus on two main topics: policy framework and good practices and experiences of selected companies to implement work based learning programmes.

    The ILO has organized a STED capacity building training workshop in Lomé, Togo on 10-13 July 2018 for national and sectoral stakeholders including representatives from government ministries and apex organizations, representatives from workers’ and employers’ organizations, representatives from sectoral organizations and associations, and representatives from training institutions and universities.

  1. The 4th Regional Skills Technical Working Group (RSTWG) Meeting

    The meeting aims to facilitate greater understanding of the evolving context of the mutual recognition of skills (MRS) implementation, sharing of experience in the strengthening of legislative framework and institutional capacity and arrangements of the MRS and discussion on the next steps for taking the MRS forward, including the pilot implementation.
