The International Labour Organization and the Economic Community of Central African States organized a virtual exchange workshop for the development of partnerships for skills and migration in Central Africa on Tuesday, June 28, 2022. Representatives from Cameroon, Gabon, Central African Republic, Republic of Congo and the Democratic Republic of Congo met to review the activities already carried out since the tripartite sub-regional consultation for the formulation of partnerships for skills and migration in Central Africa in 2019 and discuss the next steps to strengthen partnership in the priority sectors of agriculture, timber and extractive commodities (oil, minerals). Exchanges focused on the recognition of qualifications, collection and sharing of best practices and existing job references, the development of regional centres of excellence and support for the socio-professional integration of workers, particularly young people, towards decent work.
