Tripartite Meeting of Experts to Adopt Port State Control Guidelines for Implementation of the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188)

In accordance with a decision taken by the Governing Body at its 304th Session (March 2009) and 305th Session (June 2009), the Tripartite Meeting of Experts to Adopt Port State Control Guidelines for Implementation of the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No. 188), was held in Geneva from 15 to 19 February 2010. The purpose was to consider and adopt port State control guidelines for the implementation of the Work in Fishing Convention, 2007 (No.188).

The Tripartite Meeting was attended by six Government experts (from Brazil, Japan, Namibia, New Zealand, Norway, and the Russian Federation), six Employer experts and six Worker experts. Observers from 18 other governments, a number of IGOs and NGOs were also attended. It adopted a report of its proceedings as well as a final version of the Guidelines.
