Baseline study of labour practices on large construction sites in the United Republic of Tanzania

This paper presents the findings of a study of labour practices on large construction projects in the United Republic of Tanzania. The study identifies 11 large construction projects to serve as case studies, and investigates a number of key issues (labour standards) including: freedom of association, discrimination, child labour, wages, hours of work, welfare, health and safety, HIV/AIDS and forms of employment.
