    The stakeholders’ workshop was convened to critique and refine the zero draft of Zambia’s National Programme on Occupational Safety and Health.

  2. ILO International Safety Conference 2011 in cooperation with ISSA

    The conference will focus on the application of international tools on occupational safety and health (OSH) strategic approach at national and enterprise levels. Good practice in construction and health sectors, which face high and emerging risks to occupational accidents and diseases, will be highlighted. Under the theme "Promoting a preventative safety and health culture: International instruments, national strategies and good practices", the conference will offer an excellent forum to share the experience of different stakeholders and learn how to put it in practice at each level.

    This Introductory Report concerns some of the achievements and challenges of the last three years since the adoption of the Seoul Declaration on Safety and Health at Work at the XVIII World Congress on Safety and Health at Work for building a preventative safety and health culture.   17. Improving safety and health at work through a Decent Work agenda

    The project was developed by the ILO and the European Commission to better address safety and health at work as a vital component of decent work. It will be implemented over two and a half years between 2010 and 2012 in five pilot countries. The overall goal of the project is to contribute to a more inclusive and productive society through a reduction in occupational accidents and work-related diseases.

The interview was aired during prime time on Muvi TV in Zambia on 9 March 2011.

  20. Development of a National Occupational Safety and Health Programme for Malawi

    The workshop’s general objective was to impart the workshop participants with the necessary skills to enable them elaborate a draft version of a National OSH Programme for Malawi. The workshop was aimed at decision-makers and government officials as well as representatives of workers’ organizations and representatives of employers’ organizations involved in the national governance of OSH.
