The ILO provides highly qualified technical assistance to developing countries and transitional economies, based in part on financing from the Italian Cooperation (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). These interventions principally involve the promotion of fundamental rights at work — in particular the elimination of child labour and forced labour —, the spread of social dialogue and modern labour relations, the training of human resources, the generation of income through work and enterprise, chiefly in small-scale enterprises, and the corporate social responsibility.
The Italian Cooperation constitutes one of the principal donors to the technical cooperation activities of the ILO, through the sum of the various projects aimed at especially significant geo-political situations.
