ILO Decent Work Technical Support Team and Country Office for Central and Eastern Europe (short name: DWT/CO-Budapest) (former names: Subregional Office for Central and Eastern Europe, ILO SRO-Budapest and ILO Central and Eastern European Team, ILO-CEET) was established in 1993, based in Budapest. It covers the following countries:
Albania,
Bulgaria,
Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Croatia,
Czech Republic,
Estonia,
Hungary,
Latvia,
Lithuania,
Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia,
Moldova,
Montenegro,
Poland,
Romania,
Serbia,
Slovak Republic,

Ukraine.
ILO DWT/CO–Budapest has also been responsible for coordinating ILO activities in Kosovo as defined by the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 since 1999.
The Team provides advisory services and technical assistance to governments as well as to employers' and workers' organizations in the 19 countries concerned.
These can be divided into two main groups:
» member states of the European Union,
» and other countries that are in various stages of political and economic transition.
The ILO has assisted the new EU member states in accumulating valuable experience in economic and labour market transformation. The DWT/CO–Budapest helps in the transfer of know-how from these countries to South East Europe, Moldova and Ukraine in the framework of Decent Work Country Programmes. This assistance is provided in close partnership with the UN, the EU and other international organizations.
ILO DWT/CO–Budapest organizes conferences, seminars, workshops and training activities both at the sub-regional and national levels, and contributes to the preparation and management of technical cooperation projects in the region.
Please meet our staff and our national coordinators in the region.
Feel free to browse our publications: we have lists of books, reports, and a regular bulletin.
