WALKING OUT OF POVERTY Programme
Providing people with employable skills

The Walking out of Poverty programme has been successfully running for three years, despite skeptics mentioning there is no poverty in Fiji. Poverty, however, does exist in terms of lack of finances for families living in urban and peri urban areas.

With Fiji’s growing economy and the push for higher education—families are being pressured to meet this need—and with other factors such as displaced farmers and those seeking employment, this has created a huge urban drift over the years.
