ILO/Japan Japanese Technical Officers Programme

Introduction

The ILO/Japan Japanese Technical Officers Programme has been in operation since 2003, with the first batch of Japanese Technical Officers joining the ILO in 2004. Technical officers who have expertise in the ILO’s technical working areas are recruited and assigned to ILO offices in Asia to contribute to ILO multi-bilateral technical cooperation programme, to render technical assistance to developing countries, as well as to strengthen their expertise in respective field as a professional under the international working environment.

Technical officers have been assigned to the following ILO offices:

- Subregional Office for South Asia: SRO New Delhi

- Subregional Office for East Asia: SRO Bangkok

- Subregional Office for South-East Asia and the Pacific: SRO Manila

- Office in Sri Lanka
