INSAFORP. Training guide for the internal
monitoring of the assessment process based on labour competency technical
standards. 1st edition. El Salvador: INSAFORP, 2005. 65 p.
The credibility that the society in general may give to a System of
Standardisation and Certification of Labour Competencies, SSCLC, depends
to a large extent on the reliability, transparency and impartiality
with which the Assessment Centres carry out the process of assessing
candidates to certification in labour competency technical standards
(LCTS).
Among the strategies established to ensure the compliance with the
above features, there are those which try to guarantee the quality of
the assessment process by doing an internal monitoring of such process.
This mechanism not only verifies the compliance with the guidelines
set by the Regulating Body and the Assessment Centre, but it also facilitates
the improvement of the assessment processes in time.
This document presents the different procedures that are part of the
process of internal monitoring undergone by the process of labour competency
assessment and it has been designed with the aim of working as a learning
guide to the functions developed by the internal monitor.
It includes the necessary theory and practical exercises to master
the procedures involved in internal monitoring. It is divided into four
learning activities which are supposed to be developed in the established
sequence. The theoretical basis should be provided first, followed by
practical exercises. Finally, an assessment on knowledge and practical
skills will be performed.
