Labour Market Indicators Library Network

For economies with weak labour market information systems, labour market information and analysis may not be easily available to policy-makers, the social partners, and the public in general as well as to international organizations. Many of these countries, however, do produce information through household and establishment surveys, population censuses and administrative records, so that one of the main problems remains the communication of such information and analysis to the national audience and global community. In order to further efforts to increase the use and analysis of labour market information, the Employment Trends (EMP/TRENDS) Team has been working in collaboration with the ILO Bureau of Statistics (STAT) and several ILO field offices to develop a Labour Market Indicators Library (LMIL) Network. It is our hope that the LMIL Network will contribute to improving the assembly, analysis and dissemination of up-to-date and relevant labour market indicators so as to arm policy-makers with the proper information and tools for monitoring employment and making labour market policies.
