Promotion of employment
intensive technologies in public investments in Bolivia, Ecuador and PeruThis
project was carried out by the Lima Subregional Office of the ILO with funding under the ILO/DANIDA agreement. The project
commenced its activities in January 1998, and concentrated initially on
promoting the EIIP concept, familiarizing potential counterparts in Bolivia,
Peru and Ecuador.
In Ecuador, the project carried out an investigation of the system of public
tenders, the way it is applied in various organizations, and the constraints
small enterprises face to get access to public contracts. The report was disseminated to representatives of various local and international
organizations involved in the matter, with the idea to generate a wide debate on
the subject.
