What is the registry of microinsurance consultants?
The registry of consultants facilitates microinsurance providers' access to the expertise they need to address technical issues or build capacity. The registry includes individuals and institutions that specialize in actuarial science, reinsurance, management, marketing and education, IT and other areas related to insurance. These microinsurance consultants facilitate the transfer of knowledge from insurers to microinsurers, and from one microinsurer to another, thereby hastening the development of viable and valuable microinsurance services.
What types of assistance are requested by microinsurance providers?
Advice may be requested to improve products, review pricing, meet legal requirements, improve claims processing, design information systems or obtain reinsurance. Capacity building might be needed to improve capabilities in market research, process inefficiencies identification, marketing materials development or staff training. Basically, any expertise that an institution lacks could be supported by capacity building.
What are the benefits of being part of the registry?
As a part of the Microinsurance Consultants Registry, you will:
- Be accessible by microinsurance providers and donors
- be connected to the greater community of microinsurance experts to exchange information
