Employers' organizations represent a key asset in any society: its enterprises. Successful enterprises are at the heart of any strategy to create employment and improve living standards. Employers' organizations help to create the conditions for enterprise success by influencing the environment in which they do business and by providing services that improve their individual performance.
As one of the three constituents of the ILO, employers' organizations have a special relationship with the Organization. The ILO's Bureau for Employers' Organizations is responsible for the nurturing and development of that relationship.

Report on the International Business Responses to the Demographic Challenge
The ILO's Bureau for Employers Activities organized an international symposium to address the issues of demographic change from a business perspective. It was held in Geneva, Switzerland, on 28 and 29 April 2009 and brought together employer representatives from a wide range of countries, both developed and developing. The expertise to inform the discussions included leading researchers and thinkers, as well as practitioners from the business community who have taken a lead in addressing the ageing of the workforce.
