The International Institute for Labour Studies (IILS) was established by the International Labour Organization in 1960 as a centre for advanced studies in the social and labour field to further a better understanding of labour issues through education and research. It produces the World of Work Report. The International Labour Review, is a global multidisciplinary journal of labour and social policies, published under the aegis of the IILS.

POLICY BRIEF - A global policy package to address the global crisis. The world economy is going through its worst crisis in the last half century. What are the root causes for this financial crisis and the economic slump? What role have income inequalities played in the run-up to the crisis? How does a global policy package need to be set up to address the crisis? What actions should be avoided?

New Publication – Income Inequalities in the Age of Financial Globalization
World of Work Report

In the majority of countries, the incomes of rich people have grown faster than is the case for their poorer counterparts. To what extent is this a problem for society and the economy? How has financial deregulation affected people’s incomes? What can policy makers do to address excessive income inequality and still support employment and economic growth?
