South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP): good practices in social protection and in combating child labour

On 25 March, 2014 an informal meeting was held to peer review the publication entitled: "South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP): good practices in social protection and in combating child labour".

Ms. Anita Amorim, Mr. Pedro Américo de Oliveira and Mr. Nuno Tavares Martins of the ILO presented the compilation of good practices to an audience that included Mr. Jürgen Schwettmann and Mr. Juan Hunt (Director and Deputy Director of the ILO Department of Partnerships and Field Support), Mr. Helmut Schwarzer (ILO Social Protection Department), and Mr. David N’Gove Lussoke, Director, International Relations Office, Ministry of Public Administration, Employment and Social Security of Angola, Mr. Mário dos Santos Barbosa, Special Adviser, Ministry of Labour and Employment of Brazil, Mr. Marciano Octávio Garcia da Silva, Ambassador of Timor-Leste, and other representatives from the Permanent Missions of Portuguese-speaking countries in Geneva.

The ILO and the CPLP have built a solid cooperation relationship and to pursue this objective the CPLP and its Member States have organized several meetings in Geneva, including at ministerial level during the International Labour Conference. This publication aims to portray the successes of South-South and triangular cooperation in the CPLP sphere and to increase the visibility of the efforts and commitment of these countries in these key social areas.
