Contribuição Brasileira para a Estratégia de Cooperação Sul -Sul da OIT - Panorama: 2011-2013: VII Reunião Anual de Revisão

ILO South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) with Brazil has considerably up-scaled and is now effective in the four strategic objectives under the 2008 Declaration, as well as under the areas of critical importance. Brazil has been recognized as a prominent actor and model for ILO SSTC in the Programme and Budget for 2012-2013 and in the recently approved Programme and Budget for 2014-2015. Its role as a tripartite facilitator of SSTC with MERCOSUR, Portuguese-speaking countries in Africa (PALOP), and in the framework of the CPLP is also recognized in the ILO's Strategy for SSTC, adopted by the Governing Body in 22 March 2012.

This year the annual review of SSTC with Brazil analyzed topics related to social dialogue, combating child labour (in the framework of the III World Conference on Combating Child Labour to be hosted by the Brazilian Government in October 2013), sectoral activities, South-South and city-to-city cooperation, the Global Labour University, partnerships with the public and private sector through SENAI (vocational training), combating forced labour, and promoting social protection, among others. Cooperation has increased exponentially over the past few years and now covers over 20 countries in three continents. Much attention was given to triangular cooperation arrangements, which include cooperation with the United States, Spain, Norway, and France, the CPLP, to name but a few.
