MOPAN assessment finds ILO’s strategic framework creates a positive trajectory

News | 01 December 2021
The Multilateral Organisation Performance Assessment Network (MOPAN) assessment of the ILO concludes that the Organization is on a “positive trajectory” and emphasizes that the ILO’s coherent strategic framework, built on the long-term vision provided by the ILO’s Centenary Declaration for the Future of Work, provides it with a comparative advantage.

MOPAN is comprised of 21 of the major funding partner countries, who account for more than 80 per cent of the ILO’s voluntary contributions for development cooperation. The ILO was one of the six organisations assessed by MOPAN in the 2020 assessment cycle.

Welcoming the report’s findings, Director-General Guy Ryder said the report is an “extraordinarily valuable asset for our organization”, and resulted from the open and collaborative attitude of the ILO working with the MOPAN team.

“The report results from a fair and thorough process. I recognize both the positive areas, and the areas where we can improve our performance, prioritizing the green economy,” he noted.

The main findings of the report are summarized below:
