State level training workshops on Labour Inspection and Occupational Safety and Health

ILO - Department of Labour, Government of Karnataka state level training workshops on Labour Inspection and Occupational Safety and Health will be organized to discuss the national/state legislations and international standards on labour Inspection and occupational safety and health.

The ILO, in collaboration with the Department of Labour, Government of Karnataka, is organizing three state level training workshops on “Labour Inspection and Occupational Safety and Health” in Bengaluru, Karnataka. The first two days will be for the government officials (23-24 November 2015) followed by the trade unions (25-26 November 2015) and the employers’ organizations (27 – 28 November 2015). The objective of the workshop is to provide the participants an overview of the modern labour inspection procedures from the perspectives of ILO and to discuss the challenges in the field of Labour Inspection and Occupational Safety and Health. The participants will also discuss the national/state level legislations and international standards on labour inspection and occupation safety and health and identify the priorities for addressing the challenges so that relevant services are strengthened and their effectiveness are enhanced in line with the relevant international labour standards.

By the end of the workshop, the participants will gain new insights on labour inspection and occupational safety and health and they will be able to describe the principles, functions and main features of the modern labour inspection and OSH systems and identify their respective roles in comparison with the existing situation and relevant good practices and international standards.
