All Workers' Forum on Minimum Wage Fixing Guidelines for Domestic Workers

The ILO provides technical and financial assistance to the All Workers’ Group of the Philippine Technical Working Group on Decent Work for Domestic Workers (Domestic Work TWG), to conduct an All Workers’ Forum to provide a broader platform for its domestic workers and workers representatives to the regional tripartite wages and productivity boards (RTWPBs) on the new rules of procedures on the minimum wage fixing for domestic workers.

Aside on the new rules of procedures on the minimum wage fixing for domestic workers, the Forum will also provide as the advisory on competency-based wage for domestic workers which was issued by the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) in August 2014 and February 2015 respectively.

 

Sentro ng mga Nagkakaisa at Progresibong Manggagawa (SENTRO) will organize the activity on behalf of the trade unions and domestic workers’ organizations in the country, and will facilitate the discussions concerning the new policy guidelines and will seek the views and opinions of its constituents during workshops and results are envisaged to contribute in further developing workers’ official stance, on behalf of domestic workers especially; and recommendations will be conveyed to NWPC for their reference. About 40 participants from various trade unions, non-government organizations and domestic workers organizations across regions will be invited to take part in the forum.
