Signing of Strengthening National Rural Transport Programme
On 28 March 2014, the ILO and the Department of Local Infrastructure Development and Agricultural Roads (DoLIDAR), Ministry of Federal Affairs and Local Development signed an agreement for the implementation of the routine maintenance component under the Strengthening National Rural Transport Programme (SNRTP).
The SNRTP was negotiated between the Government of Nepal and the WB to enhance the availability and reliability of transport connectivity for rural communities in 33 districts. The agreement with the ILO covers a 5 years period with an estimated cost of $6.5 million.
