  1. Community Consultations on the Establishment of Child Labour Monitoring System in Quezon Province

    21 - 23 November 2011

    The project management staff of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Quezon Province is conducting community consultations on the formation of Child Labour Monitoring and Integrated Services Delivery System (CLM-ISDS) in the community. Through consultations in the communities where in the design is expected to improve based on the inputs of the community people. This process is crucial because the communities have to take ownership over the programme for it to be successful.

  4. New standards on child labour for Thailand

    16 - 17 November 2011

    Establishing new regulations and standards covering hazardous child labour in Thailand, particularly in agriculture and the shrimp, fisheries and related industries, will be the focus of a technical workshop to be held 16-17 November in Hua Hin.

    Training course for Government officials with responsibility for producing or analysing data on child labour; social partners working with data on child labour; staff from international organizations responsible for the monitoring of child labour.

  6. ILO and FAO side event on "Vulnerable groups and pesticides exposure: Joining forces to reduce hazardous child labour in agriculture"

    22 June 2011

    This meeting aims to draw attention towards the linkage between chemicals exposure and hazardous child labour. This side event is being organized during the next Conference of the Parties to the Rotterdam Convention. The Rotterdam Convention promotes shared responsibility and cooperative efforts among Parties in the international trade of certain hazardous chemicals in order to protect human health and the environment from potential harm; and contributes to the environmentally sound use of those hazardous chemicals, by facilitating information exchange about their characteristics, by providing for a national decision-making process on their import and export and by disseminating these decisions to Parties.

  7. World Day Against Child Labour 2011 in Thailand

    Event of the world day, “Creative operational campaign against child labour in hazardous work,” was organized on 19th June 2011 at Tesco Lotus in Samut Prakarn Province, a neighbouring province of Bangkok. This public awareness raising seminar was co-organised by the National Council of Thai Labour (NCTL) and the Employers’ Confederation of Thailand (ECOT).

  8. World Day Against Child Labour in Lao PDR

    The meeting was opened by Mr. Bounkhong Lasoukan, Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare. He started his speech by informing the audience about the WDACL is an important event of the world aiming at raising awareness to combat child labour, especially the worst forms of child labour.

  1. Side Event "Combating child labour through South-South Cooperation - IPEC’s experiences and prospects for future development"

    The “Global South-South Development Expo 2010” will take place in Geneva from 22 to 26 November 2010. It is organized by the Special Unit for South-South Cooperation, a division directed by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The International Labour Office has the privilege to host The Expo 2010 and welcomes various partner countries and organizations to showcase and exchange successful South-South development solutions. Solution forums include social protection and decent work, food security, climate change and environment, HIV/AIDS, global health, and education.
