SCORE Workshop on good practice sharing

On 28 July 2020, a good practice sharing workshop was organized at a SCORE enterprise in Ho Chi Minh City. Fifty factory managers, worker representatives from 30 enterprises operating in supporting industries in Ho Chi Minh City and neighboring provinces participated in this event.

At the workshop, the SCORE trainer has introduced the definition, levels and implementation of 5S - Kaizen at the production site. The programme also shared good improvement practices of SCORE enterprises, taking workplace cooperation as the core of change. Workshop participants were instructed on how to set up, operate and maintain improvement groups in their businesses.

Representatives from enterprises then discussed improvement ideas together, shared their improvement practices and challenges in implementing improvements at the factories. After that, participant visited the factory of Duy Khanh Mechanical Company, an enterprise that participated in SCORE Training in 2018. They had the opportunity to look at some of the improvements Duy Khanh has implemented through the years, such as the two-head drill, a rotatable drill tray and rearrangement of production space to reduce waste.

Nguyen Tien Khoa, representative of Duy Khanh Mechanical Company, said: “Our company is very honored to welcome businesses in our industry in this visit. Since joining the SCORE Training, the company's employees, through the improvement team, have implemented a lot of improvements, helping to improve productivity and ensure worker safety at work. Through this activity, Duy Khanh Company wishes to spread the improvement movement to other enterprises as well as to learn from good practices in the business community.”

This is why we collaborated with the SCORE programme to organize this event. Hopefully, after participating in the workshop, participants will continue to share their knowledge, together to bring changes to their companies,” said Le Nguyen Duy Oanh, Vice Director of the Center of Supporting Industries Development, under the Department of Industry and Trade of Ho Chi Minh City.

ILO, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry Branch in Ho Chi Minh City (VCCI-HCM) and Center of Supporting Industry Development of Ho Chi Minh City (CSID) with the support of the Association of Mechanical and Electrical Enterprises in Ho Chi Minh City (HAMEE) has coordinated to organize this event.
