Policy dialogue workshop on related international labour standards, especially with regards to child labour in the path to supply chain transparency in the context of international integration

Viet Nam’s deeper integration into the global economy and participation in these new - generation of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) such as CPTPP and EVFTA requires the country to enhance its capacity to comply with international labour commitments, particularly the core labour standards.

A Policy dialogue workshop on international labour commitments related to child labour - the path to supply chain transparency in the context of international integration shall be held in HCM City. This second policy dialogue workshops with the participation of the relevant government agencies and business enterprises will be organized in collaboration between the MOLISA International Cooperation Department and ILO-ENHANCE project.

Objective

  • To advocate and raise awareness among the workshop on international labour commitments related to child labour - on its linkage with the path to supply chain transparency in the context of international integration
  • To share and exchange experiences and good practices/ models in the prevention and protection of child labour in supply chains,
  • To collect inputs/recommendations for development of models on free-child labour enterprises.

Participants

About 100 participants will be attending the workshop, from:
  • Vietnamese participants: Related government Ministries, VCCI, VGCL, VCA, local provinces in the central and southern Vietnam (including project provinces/cities), business association (garment, footwear, fisheries, handicraft, furniture, craft, porcelain, electronics, etc.); business communities.
  • International participants: ILO, US Embassy, UK Embassy, EU, UNICEF, UNIDO, IOM, international NGOs and some interested partners
  • Resource persons: From ILO, Philippine, Vietnam, etc
