Training on Planning for Action on the Elimination of the Worst Forms of Child Labour in 20 provinces

To support for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the NPA at provincial level, the ENHANCE project, in collaboration with UNICEF/Child Protection Section and the MOLISA/Bureau for Child Protection and Care (BCPC) will organize a technical workshop for the NPA implementing agencies of around 20 provinces and cities in Viet Nam. The workshop aims at sharing the information of the Sub-regional consultation workshop on achieving Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 8.7, launching the NPA and assisting the participating provinces to formulate an implementation, monitoring and evaluation plan for their own provinces.

The main objective of the workshop is to contribute to the prevention and elimination of child labour, particularly the worst forms of child labour in Viet Nam, through provision of technical and financial support to facilitate the execution of the National Plan of Action on the prevention and reduction of the child labour 2016-2020.

 Specific objectives include:

  • To raise public awareness of child labour and of the Government approval of the NPA;
  • To build capacity of stakeholders in development of plan for activities, monitoring and evaluation in the prevention and reduction of child labour.

Expected outcome of the workshop:

With the consultant’s support, it is expected that a draft action plan for the prevention and reduction of child labour for each participating province will be developed.

Around 150 representatives from the concerned government ministries, workers’ and employers’ organizations, National Assembly, social and political organizations, the mass media, research and academic institutions, international organizations, NGOs, embassies and donors, together with  representatives from 20 provinces will participate in the workshop.
