Tripartite Meeting on Fair Recruitment in Tunisia

The meeting focused on validating the terms of references of an upcoming ILO diagnostic study on fair recruitment processes in Tunisia.

The ILO carried out a mission to Tunisia in order to organize and attend a tripartite meeting with representatives of the Ministry of Vocational Training and Employment, the Ministry of Social Affairs, the National Employment Agency and Self Employment (ANETI), Tunisian Agency for Technical Cooperation (ATCT), Tunisian General Labour Union (UGTT), and Tunisian Union of Industry, Trade and Handicrafts (UTICA).

The objectives of the meeting included i) providing an overview of ILO’s integrated programme on fair recruitment (FAIR), and ii) discuss in detail the objectives, methodology, and terms of references of the diagnostic study on fair recruitment processes in Tunisia.

The FAIR project is a global initiative funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation. It seeks to:
  • establish fair recruitment corridors to prevent abuses and exploitation of migrant workers
  • provide migrant workers with access to reliable information and enhanced services
  • conduct innovative research and disseminate knowledge on fair recruitment
