SOLVE is an interactive educational programme for developing policy and actions to address health-promotion issues in the workplace. It focuses on prevention by integrating health promotion into occupational safety and health (OSH) policies and actions at the enterprise level. It covers the prevention of work-related stressors (workplace-related and economic), alcohol and drug abuse, violence (physical and psychological) and HIV/AIDS, as well as promoting tobacco-free workplaces and healthy lifestyles, including good eating, sleeping and exercise habits. The programme will assist in the design of policies and interventions to improve working conditions and reduce work-related stress from an OSH perspective by incorporating psycho-social hazards into the risk-assessment and management strategy, involving both employers and workers through bipartite OSH committees at enterprise level.
