    The Tripartite Commission on Equal Opportunities (CTIO) of Argentina organized a consultation meeting in the framework of the Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers (GAP-MDW) to discuss challenges for the implementation of the recently adopted law on domestic work.

    Representatives of governments, employers and workers discussed best practices and shared expertise on social security systems for domestic workers, their better protection and reduction of occupational hazards.

  4. Founding Congress of the International Domestic Workers Federation (IDWF)

    26 - 28 October 2013

    200 domestic workers from 42 countries around the world gathered to discuss the ways to improve the working conditions of domestic workers worldwide and to launch the International Domestic Workers Federation.

    The EU funded Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers and Their Families (GAP-MDW) was launched at the 2nd High-level Dialogue on Migration and Development of the 68th Session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

  6. Lauching of Global Action Programme on Migrant Domestic Workers at High-level Panel Discussion "Making Decent Work a Reality for Migrant Domestic Workers"

    The ILO, in partnership with the Governments of Italy and the Philippines and the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, is organizing a high level panel discussion on "Making Decent Work a Reality for Migrant Domestic Workers" on the side of the High-level Dialogue on Migration and Development in New York on Thursday, 3 October 2013.

  7. Training Course on Strategies to Strengthen Domestic Workers Organizations

    A two week training course was held in Turin to strengthen capacities of workers’ and domestic workers’ organizations as well as promote the ratification of the ILO Convention 189 and decent work for domestic and migrant domestic workers.
