The ToT was conducted in the framework of the ILO/UNHCR joint project “Market-based livelihood interventions for refugees and host communities in Ayorou, Niger”. The main objective of the project is to create an enabling environment for the economic empowerment of refugees and host communities through the strengthening of market-based livelihoods in fish farming and waste management value chains.

The workshop brought together 18 participants from national institutions including the Ministry of the Environment, Urban Health and Sustainable Development, the Directorate of Cooperative Action and Promotion of Rural Organizations, the National Confederation of Cooperatives, GDV-Afrique, the National Network of Agricultural Chambers, the Regional Chamber of Agriculture of Tillabéry and the Fish Farmers Association. The project will continue working with the participants and their institutions to establish an action plan for the implementation of a set of training activities targeting direct beneficiaries of the project. The interventions will be monitored by the project staff in collaboration with the master trainer.
