    ILO PROSPECTS in Egypt trains 171 potential enterprise development trainers from NGOs

    In the framework of the PROSPECTS programme, the ILO in Egypt rolled-out nine Training of Trainer (ToT) workshops over two months and trained 171 NGO professionals on enterprise development. The aim is to support the eventual integration of refugees and host communities into the labour market.

    Technical Webinar: The role of cooperatives and social and solidarity economy organizations in forced displacement contexts

    With the aim of highlighting the role and contributions of cooperatives and SSEOs in forced displacement contexts, the ILO COOP Unit and the PROSPECTS programme are organizing a webinar to allow for interactive discussion between practitioners and project implementers.

    Youth at Heart Virtual Forum 2020: ILO's session on decent jobs for youth

    The Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs has set up the Youth at Heart virtual forum to address the issues affecting youth around the world. This session will feature an interactive conversation with young people about solutions, including youth-led, to the challenges posed by COVID-19 on themselves and their peers.

    Providing career guidance to Egyptian youth through ILO job search clubs (JSC), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth and Sports

    10 September 2020

    Job search clubs provide an enabling environment where young people gather and share resources and contacts, while searching for jobs in various fields under the supervision of trained facilitators. The ILO in Egypt will leverage and strengthen these services in the context of the PROSPECTS programme.

    Supporting small and medium-sized businesses in Lebanon’s agriculture and agro-food sectors

    10 September 2020

    A new initiative by the ILO will provide small and medium agricultural and food processing companies with training and technical support to improve their business continuity, resilience and decent job retention in response to the multiple crises that have hit Lebanon.

    World Day Against Child Labour: Protecting forcibly displaced and host community children

    On 12 June 2020, the PROSPECTS programme joins the rest of world in marking the World Day Against Child Labour. Tackling child labour among forcibly displaced or host populations is critical in ensuring all children are protected from exploitation and abuse, have access to education and can aspire to a fulfilled, safe and happy childhood among their families, peers and communities.

    Extending Micro Finance Services to Refugees and Host Communities in Kenya

    01 April 2020

    In December 2019, the ILO working closely with UNHCR organized a scoping mission to the two refugee camps in Kenya (Kakuma and Dadaab) to enable five Kenyan Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) to assess business viability in the refugee hosting areas.
