  1. World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2018 - Generation Safe & Healthy

    This year, the World Day for Safety and Health at Work (SafeDay) and the World Day Against Child Labour (WDACL) are coming together in a joint campaign to improve the safety and health of young workers and end child labour.

  2. Technical consultation on recruitment costs borne by migrant workers

    25 - 27 April 2018

    This technical consultation brings together knowledge and experiences of national statistical offices in South Asia, research institutions, statistical experts, implementers of recruitment and migration cost surveys and the ILO to discuss ways of measuring recruitment costs that is borne by migrant workers.

  3. Vietnam Association of Manpower and Supply Code of Conduct 2018 and Monitoring Tool Launch Workshops

    24 - 26 April 2018

    The event aims to highlight the updated Code of Conduct, specifically focusing on monitoring of compliance with the Code and increased business opportunities for Vietnamese recruitment agencies. Apart from introducing the new Code and monitoring tool, the event provides an opportunity for recruitment agencies to be trained on new standards of compliance. By bringing together recruitment agencies with industry associations from destination countries, human rights and business initiatives and destination employers, the event will demonstrate the ‘business case’ for ethical recruitment in the Vietnamese recruitment industry.

  4. 2018 Global Commodities Forum, "Building skills for sustainable development"

    The Global Commodities Forum is part of the UNCTAD Technical Cooperation programme, Breaking the Chains of Commodity Dependence. The event will include the participation of the ILO Director of the Employment Policy Department and representatives of the Skills and Employability Branch.

  5. Multinational enterprises, development and decent work: the approach of the MNE Declaration

    23 - 27 April 2018

    This five-day course will look at how governments, enterprises and the social partners are encouraged to each put policies in place and engage with each other through dialogue to maximize the positive contribution of multinational enterprises to socio economic development and decent work.

  6. Third Meeting of the Special Tripartite Committee of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006)

    23 - 27 April 2018

    The third meeting of the Special Tripartite Committee established by the Governing Body in accordance with Article XIII of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006) will take place at the ILO in Geneva from 23 to 27 April 2018.
