    Labour Market Transitions of Young Women and Men: Innovative research from 30 school-to-work transition survey datasets

    An international forum for sharing results of the second ILO’s Call for Papers on labour market transition of young women and men in developing countries. The Symposium, organized in partnership with the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA), offers an opportunity for researchers and development practitioners to discuss innovative research on themes of youth employment and labour market transitions and applicability to policy and programme advice and implementation.

    The ILO’s International Training Centre in Turin is organising together with the DCED and the GiZ a three-day long training course to design and implement PSD interventions in a conflict-sensitive way, and understanding the linkages and contribution of PSD to all aspects of peace-building and development.

  2. National Workers Conference on Addressing Precarious Work in the Philippines

    The International Labour Organization, through the ILO Bureau for Workers' Activities (ILO-ACTRAV), together with the Federation of Free Workers will hold a “National Workers Conference on Addressing Precarious Work in the Philippines”. The event aims to contribute towards strengthening the organizational capacities of the unions and workers’ organizations for promoting actions for Decent Work for workers in precarious and informal employment relations. In addition, it aims to assist unions in the Philippines to develop national strategy to address Precarious Work in the Philippines.

It shall focus discussions on international labour standards and applicable local laws on on freedom of association and collective bargaining using the localized manual developed by the ILO.

    The Knowledge Sharing Workshop brings together trainers from 18 National Educational and EIIP Training Institutions in Africa. The workshop mainly aims to provide a forum for exchanging of teaching/training experiences among the participating institutions and creating learning opportunities between them with regards to their operational setup, and enhancing labour-based (LB) training skills, as well as contributing to joint research and development activities.
