The academy offers a comprehensive knowledge base on conceptual issues related to the informal economy. In addition, it presents an integrated policy menu at country and regional level, working towards formalization of informal economy workers and economic units. It explores country experiences, practical cases studies and examples from various technical fields and drivers for formalization following the ILO's integrated approach to move out of informality, as well as other key institutional actors working on informal economy concepts. It is a knowledge-sharing platform on informal economy.
