Start and Improve Your Business (SIYB) Global Tracer Study 2016–2020

On December 3, the ILO’s Global SIYB team organized a webinar to launch the recently published 2016-2020 SIYB Global Tracer Study. The event promoted an engaging discussion about SIYB’s outreach, trends and what works for business management training programs.

Short description:

Every 5 years the ILO’s Global SIYB team publishes the Global Tracer Study to analyse the outreach of the SIYB programme. SIYB has a long track record of promoting development of micro and small enterprises as a strategy for creating more and better employment for both women and men. The programme was created in the 1980s and has since been implemented in more than 100 countries.

This year we are launching the 2016-2020 Global Tracer Study, providing quantitative and qualitative data on the implementation of the programme between 2016 and 2020. The publication shows impressive outreach numbers. For instance, by the end of 2020, the implementation of SIYB has led to an estimated start-up of at least 5.4 million new businesses, creating more than 10 million jobs globally. It also extracts lessons based on existing evidence on what works in relation to business management training and highlights new trends and implementation areas of SIYB going forward.

The English webinar took place between 10:00 – 11:00 CET and the video recording can be watched here:
