Units

This section details the organisational structure and activities of of the Job Creation and Enterprise Development Department. The Department consist of the following units:

  • Cooperatives (EMP/COOP)
    The Unit is responsible for the implementation of the Promotion of Cooperatives Recommendation, 2002, (Rec.193) which mandates the Office to assist constituents and cooperative organisations to promote the development of cooperatives in all ILO Member States.
  • Boosting Employment through Small Enterprise Development (EMP/SEED)
    The Unit seeks to design and advocate business environment reforms that at the same time increases labour demand through strengthening firms and that promotes rights and other standards which ensure adequate protection and working conditions for the women and men who work in enterprises.
  • Multinational Enterprises (EMP/MULTI)
    The Unit focuses on building the capacity of governments, social partners, and enterprises to promote and apply the MNE Declaration by providing policy guidance to governments on maximizing social and economic benefits of MNE operations, developing information resources to encourage coordinated approaches between governments and enterprises, and providing training and supporting capacity building.
