Labour Law, 2013 (No. 43/NA) - Adoption: 2013-12-24 | LAO-2014-L-96369 This law defines the principles, regulations and measures on administration, monitoring, labour skills development, recruitment, and labour protection in order to enhance the quality and productivity of work in society, so as to ensure the transformation to modernization and industrialization aimed at safeguarding the rights of employees and employers, as well as the legitimate interests and the continual improvement of their livelihoods, while contributing to the promotion of investment, national socio-economic development, and regional and international links.

Act No. 002/NA of 14 March 1994 concerning Labour - Adoption: 1994-03-14 | LAO-1994-L-37325 Comprised of 15 Chapters and 63 Articles. Chapter 1 provides for general principles such as non-discrimination, equal remuneration, freedom of association and restriction of forced labour. Chapter 2 concerns labour management rules. Chapter 3 regulates labour contracts and termination of employment. Chapter 4 deals with working hours and rest periods. Chapter 5 provides for work rules and Chapter 6 governs female and child labour. Chapters 7 and 8 regulate salaries or wages and guarantee of salaries or wages. Chapter 9 deals with income tax and social security. Chapters 10 and 11 concern labour protection and occupational accidents. Chapter 12 provides for retirement pensions and allowances. Chapter 13 regulates settlement of labour disputes. Chapters 14 and 15 deal with matters such as contravention of the Labour Act and regulations on the implementation of the Labour Act.
