    Employment (Conditions of Employment) (Amendment) Regulations, 1998 (S.I. 46).

    Repeals subsection 3 and replaces subsection 4 to provide that the government may, at its discretion, pay a worker who is attending a full-time training programme which lasts for more than six months an allowance equal to the worker's salary during the period of the training programme.

    Revokes the Employment Act (Employment Training Fund) Regulations 1987. Section 3 provides that moneys remaining on 1988-12-31 in the Employment Training Fund shall be paid into the Consolidated Revenue Fund.

    Provides for establishment of Employment Training Fund. Moneys of the Fund may be used for (a) meeting the expenses of in-service training in Seychelles carried out by the Seychelles Polytechnic or the Seychelles Institute of Management; (b) for payment of allowances to persons undergoing in-service training abroad where such persons are not in receipt of any wages during the period of training; (c) for payment of tuition fees, allowances and other expenses of persons undergoing training, where such fees, allowances and expenses are not provided under a scholarship awarded to such persons; and (d) for reimbursing expenses of administering the Fund. Also regulates management of the Fund as well as some related matters.
