    When organising the hours of work, the employer is to take into account the type of work as well as health and safety requirements, and let the employees know of the work schedule 7 days beforehand. The employee can work 12 hours a day and 48 hours a week, and the employee on emergency duty can work 24 hours a day and 72 hours a week maximum. He is entitled to 11 consecutive hours of rest between workdays, and to periodic breaks considering the number of hours he works.

Also contains provisions on the remuneration of "borrowed workers". Contains provisions on the guarantee of salary in case of bankruptcy of the employer and on labour inspection.

    Modifie les dispositions relatives aux congés de maladie du Code du travail de 1967. A l'exception des cas d'incapacité due ŕ un accident du travail ou une maladie professionnelle, les travailleurs ont droit ŕ 10 jours de congé de maladie par an (un certificat médical doit ętre produit, sauf dérogation). Pendant la durée d'un congé de maladie, l'indemnisation du travailleur sera de 75 pour cent de son salaire moyen. Des dispositions similaires sont applicables aux membres des coopératives agricoles qui travaillent toute l'année pour la coopérative. La loi de 1975 sur la sécurité sociale est également modifiée: un travailleur a droit ŕ une prestation d'incapacité uniquement lorsqu'il n'a plus droit ŕ un congé de maladie.

La durée hebdomadaire est limitée ŕ 36 heures dans certains secteurs (fonderies, chaleur, fours ŕ coke, broyage des minéraux, mines dans lesquelles une exposition aux rayonnements ionisants est possible, lieux de travail oů il y a exposition au plomb ou autres substances toxiques, industrie du textile avec transformation de l'amiante, production de résines artificielles). Des dispositions concernent les paiements en nature des mineurs.
