    This Law replaces and amends Articles 1,2 and 101 of Law No. 53 of 1966 concerning the Agriculture Law.

    The Minister of Agriculture shall determine the areas to cultivate certain crops, and shall ban other crops in certain areas. The Minister of Agriculture in coordination with the Minister of Irrigation shall issue a Ministerial Decree to ban the cultivation of some crops in certain areas that have low amounts of water, in order to rationalize water usage.

    This Law issued to cover health insurance for farmers and agricultural workers who have no insurance protection under any other law.
    Under the law, the General Agency for Health Insurance will oversee the provision of medical treatment and care services by specified treatment bodies in and out of farmer units, in accordance with the levels of health service and rules regulating them issued by order of the health minister.

    Ministerial Order No. 507 of 1994 endorsing the internal regulations of Cotton Exporters' Union

    Implements the internal regulations of the Cotton Exporters Union. The regulations provide for conditions of membership, the organs and officials of the union, and for other general rules relating to the union.

    Act No. 96, 1992, to amend certain provisions of Legislative Decree No.178, 1952, on Land Reform.

    Overturns land reform legislation enacted after the 1952 revolution. Land owners can now increase the annual rent for agricultural land up to a ceiling of 22 times the tax levied on the land, up from the previous ceiling of 7 times the tax. All current leases on agricultural land must be renegotiated by the end of agricultural year 1996-97. Owners are now allowed to sell their land without their tenants' consent.
