    Establishes a Child Marriage Prevention Committee. Prohibits child marriages for children under the age of 18 years old. Under Article 19, child marriage may still be allowed if its is deemed to be "in the best interests of the child". The Act repeals the Child Marriage REstraint Act, 1929.

    Provides that all youth organizations have to be registered with the Ministry of Youth. If they are not, the executive of the organization may face six months of imprisonment or a fine. The Law also establishes a National Youth Council and regulates the functions of non-political youth organizations.

    Act to implement the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. The Act changes the legal definition of a child from being a person under the age of 14 to one under the age of 18. It criminalizes any kind of cruelty inflicted on children while they are working in both the formal and informal sectors. In addition, the Act will prescribe punishments for using or exploiting children in begging, in brothels, and in carrying drugs, arms, or other illegal commodities.

    Prohibits the employment of children under the age of twelve in specified industries (including carpet-making, cement manufacture, tanning, soap manufacture); proscribes the employment of children under fifteen in railways and ports. Children employed between the ages of fifteen and seventeen shall be provided prescribed periods of rest.
