Section 1 of Order No. 8 of 2011: Section (1) and Section (2) of Order No. 13 of 1979 concerning regulations and provisions on special leave are replaced and amended, which establishes that employee may be granted special leave without pay for 6 months to 3 years, during entire service period, provided that he or she is Kuwaiti citizen and has been in government's service for a continuous period of no less than 5 years and is at least 50 years old. Working mother shall be entitled to a special Leave for 6 months to 4 years according to the following requirements: (a) Kuwaiti married employee or non-Kuwaiti employee who is married to a Kuwaiti; or (b) Kuwaiti widowed or divorced employee with children, or non-Kuwaiti widowed or divorced employee with Kuwaiti children, provided that she had completed successfully her trial period.
Section 3 of Order No. 13 of 1979 concerning regulations and provisions on special leave is repealed.
