Abstract/Citation: This Act provides for a number of different benefits including: child support grant; care dependency grant; foster child grant; disability grant; older person¿s grant; war veteran¿s grant; grant-in-aid; and a social relief of distress. With respect to the older person's grant, the grant is funded wholly by the government and eligibility is based on means-testing and extends to all citizens or permanent residents living in South Africa. Coverage extends to workers in both the formal and informal sectors.
