Second Region

This Act consolidates and amends the law relating to education. It asserts the right of every citizen to receive education and instruction without any distinction of age, sex, belief or economic means (s. 1) and the duty of the State to prepare citizens for work (s. 19). It governs, inter alia, the appointment of teachers and the functions of various institutions. The employment of a minor of compulsory school age is prohibited (s. 41). Provides for penalties in cases of infringement of various provisions.
