Second Region

Provides for the notification of accidents and occupational diseases. Obliges the employer to notify the Chief Labour Officer if an occupational accident, occupational or other disease occurs. Includes forms and particulars for the notification process. Requires employers to keep records of accidents open for inspection by the Chief Labour Officer. States that the Minister for Labour may extend notification of accidents provisions to dangerous occurrences involving risk of serious injury to workers. Sets provisions for an inquest into the case of death by accident or occupational disease. Gives the Minister for Labour the power to direct a formal investigation of accidents and cases of occupational disease. Applies the Act to government departments and agencies.
