Abstract/Citation: Federal Act concerning basic labour law principles in the agricultural and silvicultural sectors. Provides general regulations governing employment in an agricultural or silvicultural business. The Act applies to all employee regardless of their function, with the exception of employees who are members of the employer's family (s. 3). The probationary period in an employment contract shall not be for more than one month. Also sets out employer's duties with respect to working conditions. Inter alia, the employer is obliged to take the necessary precautions to protect employees against occupational hazards (s. 13). In the event of non-ability to work due to illness, the employee is entitled to full wages for a period in relation to the time of service to the employer.(s. 21). The employee maintains his right to full wage during an illness if the employer terminates the employment relationship during that time for no acceptable reason. Dismissal, however, results in immediate termination of employers' obligations (s. 24). Consolidated text.
