Second Region

Part 1 of the Act specifies the application of the Act and the power to exempt same in case of emergency. Part 3 pertains to the registration of factories. Part 4 describes general health provisions applicable to working conditions in factories specifically those relating to cleanliness, overcrowding, ventilation, lighting and sanitary conveniences. Part 5 describes relevant safety provisions for mobile devices, transmission machinery, unfenced machinery,vessels containing dangerous liquids, self-acting machines and the training and supervision of inexperienced workers. This part also regulates various lifting machinery and steam boilers,and specifies provisions for fire prevention. Part 6 covers drinking water supplies and washing facilities. Part 7 protective clothing and protection. Parts 8 and 9 specify miscellaneous provisions, and Parts 10 and 11 cover administration, offences, penalties and legal proceedings.
