These Regulations, issued under the Factories Ordinance (Cap. 169), include nine parts: Safety; Health and Welfare; Health, Safety and Welfare (special provisions); Prevention and Control of Occupational Disease; General Duties; Notification of Accidents; Notices and Registers; Enforcement; Offences and Penalties. The appended Schedule lists machinery designated as dangerous in relation to the training of young persons. The Regulations contain, in particular, provisions concerning the prohibition of employment of women and young persons in certain processes (s. 34), medical examination of employees (s. 43) and inspection (ss. 56 to 60). They repeal the Factories (Health, Safety and General Welfare) Regulations, 1945 (G.N. No. 458).
