As a consequence of having to work, Sana* was unable to keep up with her school and homework. She failed in five subjects and had to drop out of school.

Sana was identified by the ILO's Child Labour Monitoring System, which provided her with the necessary support to help her return to school.

Th Child Labour Monitoring System was developed as part of efforts to tackle the worst forms of child labour in Iraq - with the support of the European Regional Development and Protection Programme for Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq (RDPP II) - a joint European initiative supported by the Czech Republic, Denmark, the European Union, Ireland and Switzerland.
