Arab States labour inspectors meet to improve inspection practices related to gender discrimination

Labour inspectors from Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen and the occupied Palestinian territory will incorporate their recommendations of a draft ILO-guidebook on labour inspection and gender-based discrimination.

Labour inspectors from across the Arab States will be consulted on the content of a new training guidebook being drafted by the ILO for labour inspectorates in the Arab region on issues related to gender equality and discrimination. Inspectors from Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen and the occupied Palestinian territory will discuss the latest developments and trends on labour inspection in the Arab States and devise a set of recommendations to be incorporated into the guide entitled “Labour inspection, gender equality and non-discrimination in the Arab region”.

The guidebook is being compiled by under the ‘’Gender Mainstreaming in the ILO/Norway Partnership Agreement’’ project which aims to increase capacity of labour inspectorates to address issues related to gender equality and discrimination in the Arab States.
